Love is Blue

Music is so powerful. It’s amazing. There are a number of songs that are tied to particular memories floating around in my brain. The Beatles for instance, “I’m Happy Just to Dance With You.” That particular song is tied to a memory at a public swimming pool in Lockhart, Texas that I went to as a kid. It was a sunny day and it was playing on the jukebox. I’ll never forget it. Then there is “Love is Blue.” I heard that the other day at a hamburger joint here in Salem, Oregon. They were playing oldies and that song came on and I was immediately transported back to the 60s when I was a young teenager learning how to play drums to that song. I just stopped eating and closed my eyes and I was there.

Welcome to Prefrontal Cornflakes. No, this blog is not about performing a nosedive into a bowl of breakfast cornflakes. It’s about your brain and it’s about how you can train this incredible blob of fat and cells and do amazing things with it – and your life as a result.
